When choosing an auction company it is very important to ask several questions? 1. What services do you provide? 2. Are you a member of the Nation Auctioneers Association and the New York State Auctionerr Association? 3. How much work will be required from me? 4. How will my auction be marketed? 5. How much are your fee's and what do I pay for? 6. Are you licensed? Insured? This is not a complete list of questions but these will get you going in the right direction.    How do Auctioneers Get Paid?  All auctioneers charge a fee to auction your items.  They may charge a commission or a flat fee.  Every auctioneer is different depending on his/her business expenses. The fee is also dependant on what you are marketing.  Expensive items will generally have lower commissions or fees than lower priced items.  They may have other charges for labor, advertising, photos, tents, porta pottie, set up, clean up, Internet etc.  These expenses vary from auction to auction because every auction is unique.  Keep in mind a lower commission or flat fee doesn’t mean you save or make more money. Greg LeGrand is a graduate of the Yankee School of Auctioneering and is a member in good standing with the National Auctioneers Association as well as the New York State Auctioneers Association.  He has been in the Marketing and Advertising field for over 20 years and has been a Senior Manger and/or Marketing Executive for companies such as; The New York Times, TransWestern Publishing, Mast Advertising and Haines Publishing. His love of collecting coins, toys and antiques over the last 30+ years, lead him to the auction profession. Richalien LeGrand Is a Graduate of Repperts School of Auctioneering.  She has a BA in Public Relations from the University of Florida and is Licensed in NY to sell real estate.
